How To Be A Boy Scout Leader

Being a Boy Scout leader is a big responsibility because you will need to organize your group, set plans, set activities and you also need to be a good example too so that they will also follow you. Do you have the qualities of a Boy Scout leader? Are you ready to be a Boy Scout leader and lead your troops?
What is a Scout Leader? Scout leader are trained adults or youths to guide and lead a Scout. Scout is a group of people who are willing to serve and help their district or community, especially the elderly.

Did you know that Lieutenant Robert Baden-Powell wrote the principles of Scouting in London in 1908? Baden-Powell was also one of people who started Scouting in England.
Here are some tips on how to be a Boy Scout leader:
- Boys Scout leaders should be creative. You should be able to come up interesting ideas and activities to keep your troops active.
- You should set goals and rules, and be consistent with it so that your troops will know that you really follow orders and rules, you also need to follow rules so that people or your troops will follow you and they will see that you are a good leader. You will also gain trust and respect by doing these things.
- Plan indoor and outdoor activities. Everything should be well balanced, this way your troops will not be bored, but make sure to plan active, fun and productive activities, so that you and your troops will enjoy and learn at the same time.
- Have one or two meetings in a week. You and your troops should share new ideas and activities. Be open to new and creative ideas. This will make your meetings and activities more active and fun.
- Open your mind to new ideas. Every leader should be open-minded because you will need to hear and accept ideas and suggestions from your troops, but make sure that you and your troops will follow the rules. You can be friends your troops, but there are limitations, rules are rules.
- Get your troops or team trained. You can check the Cub Scout Den Leader Basic Training at your district. This is the perfect time to learn leadership skills.
Now that you know what it takes to be a Boy Scout leader, it is time to apply these qualities and be a good Boy Scout leader.
